Where is Cambodia?

Cambodia is a beautiful country in Southeast Asia, located between Thailand and Vietnam.  The ancient Khmer kingdom experienced its peak during the 12th century, and it was during this time that the famed Angkor Wat temple was built.

In more recent history, however, Cambodia has become known for the genocide of the Killing Fields. At the end of the 1970's a group of Cambodian communists took control of Cambodia, killing 1-3 million Cambodians and plunging the country into famine and poverty.

In 1993, elections were held and the country was  once again opened to foreign mission work.  Since that time, Cambodia has experienced rapid development.  But rampant corruption and other social problems remain.  The Cambodian people continue to search for meaning in their lives and peace in their hearts.
